  • Jaco Scholtz : Hi Earl,you don't have to be part of a club or even have a bike to ride on the track. Western Province cycling offers development bikes to new comers. Why don't you come to the league on 10 August and get to meet some of the newcomers and find out more. You can also mail me at jaco@trackcyclingsa.co.za

MAXIMUM VELOCITY track cycling challenge


ORIGIN 
Maximum Velocity  was founded by TrackCyclingSA.co.za founder, Jaco Scholtz. 

The event has strong roots with cycling development. It started as part of The Outriders cycling club's social responsibility to host a track cycling event in order to develop track cycling in the Western Cape. Jaco organized the event with the help of an enthusiastic club committee and a generous sponsorship from Intellibus. The inaugural event was held on 2 February 2005 at the Bellville velodrome. The event is commonly abbreviated as MV. 

Subsequently the event was held in 2006, 2007 & 2008 with TrackCyclingSA.co.za being the leading media sponsor.
